KapitanGopnik 58 Report post Posted September 15, 2016 It's no secret that running 7DTD to its full potential requires a pretty hefty PC. Show us what you're running, brag, maybe even give advice to others who are looking to build a killer system. I don't have pics at the moment, but my current build: -AMD FX-4350 4.2 ghz quad core, OC'd to 4.4 ghz - Corsair Water Cooler hybrid - MSI Gaming 970 Motherboard - 32gb Corsair Vengeance RAM, 1866 mhz - MSI Strix R9 390x, 8gb - At least 10tb hard drive space with a 256gb Samsung 850 Pro SSD for system - RedDragon Mammoth Gaming Mouse -Corsair Vengeance Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - 24" Asus VG245H LED monitor with HDMI. - Sennheiser wireless headphones. Quite a list. Jelly?
Zyroxen_Xyphwreton 2 Report post Posted May 5, 2017 Hey Cap, Nice list, but I'm sure MINE is just as nice. I considered it more of a Medium to High end rig (more on Med), but I'm still new to this PC building department. So, here's the list of my current PC rig (as of 5/4/17): -ASUS Z170-DELUXE LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard -Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530 -CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm -Dominator® Platinum Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4 DRAM 2133MHz C10 Memory Kit (CMD16GX4M4B2133C10) -MSI Radeon R9 390X DirectX 12 R9 390X GAMING 8G 8GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card -Samsung 850 PRO - 512GB - 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-7KE512BW) with WD Black 6TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD6001FZWX for long storage -Noctua 140mm Premium Quiet Quality Case Cooling Fan NF-A14 FLX: X2 -ASUS BW‑16D1HT ‑ BDXL drive ‑ internal ‑ Serial ATA ‑ 48x -Corsair Obsidian Series 750D Performance Full Tower Case -Corsair Gaming M65 RGB Laser Gaming Mouse — Black (with mouse pad) -Corsair Gaming K95 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Aircraft-grade aluminum, Backlit Multicolor LED, Cherry MX Red -HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset for PC & PS4 - Gun Metal (KHX-HSCP-GM) -ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor -LG Electronics Gaming 24GM77-B 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor This is what I got for my first/second build. I'm sure I've overspent on items that I don't need/use and could spend it else where, but I'm happy with what I got so far. I'm just a few steps away from you Cap, but still not getting the best out of my system I think. And NO, I'm not OC my system since there's no good way to dissipate the heat it generates in such a short amount of time. FYI, it's in a small room and it the temp jumps from 75 degrees to pushing 81 (at the desk) when playing ARK or 7DTD for several hours. It's even like this when the door is open. Also doesn't help that I live in a FREAKING DESERT! Either way, I'm happy with what I got, at least for the moment. PS. You can copy/paste those items into google and see those items first hand. Aren't I nice?
KapitanGopnik 58 Report post Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) Nice! Looking at my old list, I'm surprised how much it's changed since then. I've made quite a few changes, biggest ones being: FX-8350 processor, eight cores at 4.4ghz Asus Sabertooth 990FX 3.0 motherboard Strix GTX 1070 video card Corsair STRAFE RGB keyboard with MX Brown switches Logitech G900 gaming mouse (wireless FTW) I'm hoping to snag a Ryzen processor sometime this year, likely when Cyber Monday rolls around. For now I'm having fun with the current rig. From what you're saying, your rig seems awfully hot. I live in a desert too, and so far my rig is staying relatively cool (fingers crossed, my last two boards blew up at the VCore sections. This TUF Sabertooth board seems pretty robust in that department, but time will tell...) Edited May 5, 2017 by CaptRichards
