I am currently in the process of upgrading the server to a dedicated hosting solution. I will back up the world and upload it to the new server so you can continue where you left off. The current server will be offline during this process and will finish the moment I am able to backup and upload these files. I will post when I have finished this transition. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

The world contains about 8.2 GB of data and has about 15,000 individual files if anybody is curious to know. The new server is now online at a new ip address and can be found in the server list.

The new server is online and running smooth. :)

You can search for it in the search box, or you can connect to it directly at ip: 24.49.167.74 port: 26900.

I'm not sure what happened. However when the server gets to be around day 1000 the server starts to overload and crash. This happens from too many players and too much stuff being built on the server to such an extent that the server begins to crash and cause errors / bugs. If this is from a bug that freezes the server every time a player loads that location then we will have to delete that area from the server, otherwise we will have to delete the entire map and start over with a fresh new world.

I will see what I can do to fix it after I get off work.

I realize that to you this thread may an old one, or even one that you'd like to see closed. But it seems only too familiar like it was never concluded and the issues were never truly resolved. Back in the day during alpha 14.7 I played here on the RHG PVE2 server, and there were many issues with the server then. YES! "around day 1000" the sever started to "overload and crash" ...all of this continued through alpha 14.7 up until Oct 5, when you updated the server to the new stable version alpha 15. Now, in alpha 15 we are met with the same old gremlins. Only this time we needn't wait until "day 1000" before we can expect to see it happen all over again. I suspect that since the upgrade to alpha 15, you've done all but swap out and upgrade everything except the server's cpu. And if the cpu can't keep up, what does it matter that you've got brand spanking new ssd's installed or that you've even doubled the system's ram from 16 to 32 gb? You still have a bottleneck... and alpha 15 is not a small update either! In fact it's the largest update since the previous build. Alpha 15 brought with it nearly twice as much more new content than ever before. Today's date is Oct 28, 2016 and we're on day 672.13:37 and it's doing the same things all over again. It's not the software nor is it anything that is client side, but it's a server side tangle of issues all pointing to the cpu. It won't help to upgrade the graphics card either, seeing that it's not the server's function to display the graphics but to simply store, retrieve and upload files all the while doing the necessary calculations and processes to instruct our machines on what they should do with the files they receive.  You really need a new cpu and the only practical way to get one is to get a new server. Not a new service, but a new server --the actual server unit itself needs to be replaced because it needs to be a lot faster if it is going to keep up with the demands of an ever growing server population trying to thoroughly enjoy alpha 15.

The internet provider most likely had dropped a connection at that time. This happens occasionally most likely from having the server being located in a well populated area. Im planning on changing internet providers sometime in the near future, to try to prevent this from happening again.

However, the server continues to run regardless of having an internet connection and since then it is now online and available again. Best regards and sorry for any inconvenience that this may have had.

I leave these old threads open so that they can always be further discussed about or for commenting, however all they are is old and outdated threads.

Since the time of this post, we have jumped from several shared hosting companies trying to find the best hosting for our server. After being hosted with all those 3rd party companies we had decided to switch over to a dedicated server instead for better performance. These crashes from our shared hosting providers most likely happened from using up all of the ram on the server due to having multiple game servers on the same machine. We have recently switch to a dedicated server on October 13th and it indeed has been much better and smoother with game play. Our recent SSD hard drive upgrade has also improved game play, regular players that were with us before and after the dedicated server agree. However, the new dedicated server is somewhat of an old relic in terms of servers but it still gets the job done.

Upgrading the ram will indeed improve game play, since when their are about 25 players and 80 zombies and 9 animals, the cpu is at about 80% usage and the ram is at about the same most times. However if a player decides to go mining and it collapses the server will use up all the rest of the 20% of ram and the server will freeze. CPU and RAM would be an ideal set of components to upgrade but that could cost hundreds of dollars so RAM may be a better and cheaper alternative for now.

I have also included some past screenshots of the performance tab in the task manager that I have been taking of the server to help show you how it runs on most days. The screenshot that maxed out and dropped down was due to a mining incident in the game and I had to restart the server.

We have recently upgraded to a dedicated server on October 13th. Hopefully this problem has been fixed now.

Somehow I don't think so... With just 6 payers on suddenly I found myself stranded between areas that refused to load correctly and I had to log out... when I try to re-enter the game I get forever stuck on the "Starting game..." screen and the game just won't start for me.

Please remember that this game is early access and is still being developed so not everything is going to work as it's supposed to. Having that said, certain things are simply out of our control.

The internet recently disconnected, it seems to happen every now and then at the servers physical location. The internet came back online and the server should be up and running again as usual.

However here are a few more posts about this subject:

been down for quite a bit now just wondering if i should go do something else

Server is online with a new ip address and it is the same world as before, nothing has changed except for the ip address. The server is still listed in the public server list as well. Also you can manually connect to it at the new ip address at: ip 24.49.99.198, port 26900. Best Regards.

Server exceeded ram limit and a manual restart was needed to fix. I have also lowered the slots to 16 to help prevent this from happening for now. However the server is now working and is back online again. Best Regards.
