alpha 14.6 Server problems, Possible world wipe?

Since our Red Hat Gamers - PVE server is having problems and creating lots of lag and is almost unplayable, we are thinking about wiping the world and starting new with a fresh new world. This game is still early access and as such we can't fix every bug / glitch that may occur as well as optimize and make it run smoother so we feel like this would the best solution to help to optimize our server.

Please let us know if you want or don't want a world wipe within the next day or two by replying to this post. If we do end up wiping the world and starting with a fresh new world, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Note - This is for our pve 1 server that is at day 926.

For players who are passing by and reading this, I urge you to respond to this post with your thoughts and opinions as we'd love to hear them!

I'd like to thank all the players who have been sticking with us during this time even after the ups and downs of Day 1000 nearing.

It is definitely a recurring issue and I feel that the only way to remedy the situation is indeed, for a server wipe.

Otherwise the problems will continue to persist as it is NOT server side issues, so sadly it is out of our power otherwise.

So thank you for your understanding, and I can only hope that we can fix this, together  ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

 i think its a good idea.  I'm pretty new, dont have near the time spent as some of you here, but have reached lvl 80 already and have quite the construction project going on, starting over sucks but its either that or pick a new server for me at this point, i cant even join the room at times, when i do i am either boxed in by a black emptiness (not the usual white or invisible nothingness that i normally see with the game not loading) or i get a 2min delay on opening containers.

so my vote is yes, wipe it

If indeed a wipe is needed, it is disappointing. I can understand for older players that a clean slate (wipe) is no doubt a welcomed idea, been there plenty of times myself but as I've literally just completed my base lol, I am totally not looking forward to it. So I would vote against the wipe, personally. Not only that, but I know that the issues your server is having may very well be related to issues that can be resolved without the wipe, such as overlapped or abandoned landclaims, removal of xml script that would prevent buggy items such as the minibike from being built and such through regional wipes. So instead of wiping the server as a whole, you'd be wiping regions that has been populated or messed with a lot. Also, you could save/backup player profiles to your server, so people who don't want the wipe, won't lose their experience and skills currently gained. I understand that some players my really desire the resetting of their character, and that's totally cool. I would suggest giving the option to your active players to request the profile backup, in the case that there is a wipe, or in the chance that you decide to do regional wipes instead in their areas. Players could gather in their inventory everything they want transferred to the newly refreshed map. Anyways, just a thought.

I really thought wiping the server was the only solution, but I like Cypher's idea.  If there's a way to save my profile and exp and a fraction of my inventory while refreshing the map, that's the route I'd like to go.

Currently having issues attempting to log onto the game server

been trying most of the day but its not letting me log on.

The second server seems to have no issues its just the first one.

If it does mean a server wipe  that's fine if it helps to resolve the current server issues. 

It may a total drag loosing our bases,  but I would rather the server be working 

properly.  Ok I admit it after I loose my base....I will be crying myself to sleep.

if cypher's idea is doable i'd prefer that. i'd be fine losing my base(s) and keeping exp and inventory. i'll admist i've been careless with landclaims in the past. having the option to pick them up could help prevent future clutter. if you do the reset, could you put in the lotto? whatever you guys need to do i'll deal with. this is still by far my favorite server.

There is an option to pick up land claim blocks with the /grab lcb command.

I would be sad if there is a wipe, but if the server is unplayable then I understand a last resort is always wiping just like a computer. Would be nice to at least keep my perks I have, which I know is a thing from playing on other servers that had to wipe. What ever happens I know its for the greater good and you guys did what you can.

wipe sounds good, but can it be possible to reduce the re spawn time of loots and make a rule where you cant place lcbs in loot areas. thats one of the reasons it got rally boring at server 1 cuz almost everyhing was looted, and it takes freaking forever to spawn, i for one am guilty for placing a lcb on a loot  spawn but hey it was all fair game and it was permitted. but demn that loot respawn tho kinda meh.. just my 2c cents. i like how skye was placing lcbs on town and loot areas on pve 2 hope she can cover all of them up when they get explored soon

I started out fresh on the new PVE 2 server and appreciate the differences of having my character on the PVE 1 server high level and well off compaired to my noob on the newer server so, I'm against a wipe as I can play on one or the other server depending on what I want to do. But I'll live with whatever is decided.

If it's necessary, then do the wipe. I'm a survivor (obviously). If there are ways to save stats, that would be Gucci, otherwise, whatever's best for everyone.

I'm more concerned about the fact that I didn't know about a 2nd server. Guess I've been out of the loop for a bit. :\

If we alter the loot respawn time we would be considered a modded server, and I believe Piranha is looking to keep the server vanilla.

Initially I had planned to only do up to 2 cities out that are surrounding the Hub (NESW), in hopes it would help fresh spawn a little bit.

As it is not in the rules to deter players from building in POIs - Shotgun Messiahs, Working Stiff, Pop'N Pills, Crack-A-Book, etc.

Also /shop has a great variety of options to buy from~

But thank you for giving us your feedback as I will try to keep doing what i've done on PVE2 when I get the chance to

Having problems logging into PVE 1, although it says it's at 20/40 players.  Can I assume the wipe is happening as we speak, or are the issues really that bad?

From what I currently know, Piranha is not at home and will be spending some time with family this weekend.

No current ETA as to when it will be brought up, sadly. Really sorry for the inconvenience everyone :<
