The servers are now back online. Sorry for any inconveniences that the recent downtime may have caused. Best regards.

We recently updated our 7 Days To Die game servers to the latest version (Alpha 17). Join us at IP: 184.60.188.250, Port: 26900.

Our servers will be going offline today at 2 pm Mountain Time to setup our game servers on a Linux operating system. This will increase performance from our current Windows OS and will also be much easier for us to manage over our network. This shouldn't take more than a few hours to setup and to transfer the game files over to the new server.

Our web server is currently having issues with users that are signing up under gmail.com and are unable to get their verification emails sent. Google doesn't accept any mail from unauthorized IP addresses sent directly to their servers and their is no way to get white listed. If you recently have signed up with a gmail email account, please email me directly at redhatgamers@yahoo.com, so I can verify your email and manually approve your account. Please do not create multiple RedHatGamers.com accounts! Furthermore, I am working on getting this fixed and will resend out any pending verification emails. Sorry for any inconveniences that this may have caused.

I am looking for feedback on if we should start wiping our 7 days to die (PVE) servers on the 1st of every month, beginning on December 1st of 2017. This will help to keep the server free of bugs (for the most part), and give more of a schedule of when a wipe will occur. This will also make the server more enjoyable since there will be fewer bugs, as well as making it harder to have an endgame status. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

I have updated the admin guidelines and the server rules to remove anything that is unnecessary and unneeded for our servers. The admin list has also been updated and those inactive admins that haven't played for a long time will be missed. Any inactive admins as well as any new admin that would like help run our server/s, please let us know by submitting a staff application. Thank you.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the world as we knew is gone and got wiped. There wasn't a save file with alpha 16 (experimental) version during its initial setup and the restart today had resulted in a wipe. I apologize for this, however on the bright side we now have a save file (thankfully) to prevent problems like this, as well as admin permissions again. Again I apologize for this inconvenience and I hope everyone has a great day.

We have upgraded to commercial grade internet today for better reliability as well as having a static IP address for all our servers. The new IP address to connect to our game servers is: 184.60.188.250. We are also in the process of launching 7 additional 7 Days To Die servers and hopefully they will be up sometime this week based on if we can get our network setup properly. Thank you to everyone that continued to play on our servers in the past with all the downtime and internet issues that have hopefully been resolved now.

The internet occasionally disconnects with the dedicated server, most likely due to the servers physical location. I could go into more details about it but it could go on and on. Having that said, I am considering moving the 7 Days To Die Server to a shared host with the same exact world as it is currently and using the server to start up additional game servers instead. By doing this it could help get new and different game servers up and going with very little upfront cost after internet and utilities. The shared host will run just as good as the dedicated server for 7 Days To Die, with the added benefit of reliability for the most part. Admins will also be able to restart the server on their own, if they ever need to do so. This game is early access so problems with the game will still occur regardless of what it is hosted on. I will be able to add several, low populated game servers on the dedicated server to be able to grow the community faster with little cost. If you support this idea, take our poll and suggest a new game server that you would like us to add to our server list and by doing so we may add it. Best Regards.

Since the server has been crashing recently, we have decided to lower the player limit to 16 slots until further notice. This will allow the server to utilize more ram during major events such as mines collapsing and TNT usage. The server is able to run smooth at 26 players or so, however there is very little ram left over during peak times which results in frequent crashes. By lowering this limit it will create a more smoother game play and will help to eliminate lag. This new setting will be applied during the next server restart. We will plan to upgrade the servers ram within the next month or two from 8gb to at least 16gb, so that we will be able to raise this new player limit that has been set. Best Regards. Also, we currently offer VIP Reserved Slots which will grant you priority access to our server at anytime when it is full. To purchase your Reserved Slot so you don't have to wait to connect, Click HERE. Donations of $5 or more will also get you a reserved slot added to your account, Click HERE. Recently the server had crashed again due to a known memory leak with 7 Days To Die and a simple restart was needed to fix this. Furthermore, if anybody is curious to know more about this memory leak problem, then here are some chat logs from a discussion I had with a gameservers.com representative when our server kept crashing. I am also currently in the process of setting up something on our new dedicated server to help prevent this from happening again. Also you may be able to learn more about this at 7daystodie.com. Posted 05/07/16 5:36am - Jake Are you sure that no changes or additions have been made to the server prior to the start of the crashes? I am currently seeing a number of crashing instances as a result of a memory limit enforced on the server. The 7daystodie server software has a history of memory leaks that would cause the instance to utilize all of the available memory on the machine. We have enforced a memory limit for the 7daystodie subscriptions to avoid such incidents. With indication that this is occurring for your subscription there may be conflicts or events in the server that are causing an abnormally high memory load, or triggering a memory leak. Posted 05/24/16 1:18pm - Zachary Hello, The issue at this time is due to a memory leak in the Unity game engine, used to make 7 days to die. We have increased the memory limit on your subscription by 50%, however, we will not be able to increase this further. Crashes will still occur when this limit is reached, and there is no way around this unfortunately. The Unity engine development team will need to address the memory leak issue in order to permanently resolve this problem. Thanks,

Today the server had crashed due to a known memory leak with the unity 3d game engine that 7 days to die is being developed on. I'm not sure if this has been fixed or not but this had resulted in a forced server restart and was unable to save the world at that time due to this bug (if it did save, it would most likely have also saved the bug). This game is early access and is still under development so bugs, glitches and wipes are just the nature of the beast. If this ever happens and someones base that they have been working on for such a long time has some sort of problem like with stability, let an admin know or post in the forums. An admin or I, will rebuild or give to you what was lost due to bugs that have occurred, such as buildings collapsing or items disappearing, etc. Best regards and thank you for choosing us for all your zombie killing needs.

A player most likely had recently started to blow up building and structures for fun which resulted in the server locking up. This resulted in players not being able to connect to the server since it had froze up so TNT + Dynamite will be temporarily banned until further notice. Server needed to be restarted to fix. Best regards.

We have updated our server to a Random Gen and since this game is starting to be more like a complete game, we aren't planning on doing anymore full server wipes. We have decided to delete regions that are buggy or out of date until the server is updated for the latest release such as alpha15, alpha16. Hopefully this will work as planned and if so, we wont have to do a complete server wipe anymore and force players to start over from scratch. Furthermore to keep loot fresh we will delete regions near the center of the map to keep those locations fresh. We haven't decided how far from center we will be deleting but we will try to delete it regularly so remember to build your base far out from the center of the map. Best Regards.
