The lag was making the game unplayable for a number of players on the server, including myself on a FIOS connection. We capped the server at 18, as anywhere above that number was causing issues -- we had 26 players online simultaneously yesterday. Current server setup just can't handle the extra load of that many players at the moment.

I vote dedicated. Shared is okay, but the lag gets so bad sometimes that it's of little use to be on 24/7, unless I want to downgrade my video settings to the lowest levels; which doesn't help in some cases.

I think shop should be limited to certain hard-to-find items; calipers, tool and die sets being an example. I can rarely find a Working Stiffs or anywhere else that isn't constantly raided. I also like /gimme. You don't always get something good with it, so I'm for that bit.

I love zgate, but if the bikes worked flawlessly (and if they didn't cause arguments among others like a bunch of little kids) I'd have 'em. It'd increase the immersion factor and add another element of challenge to the game. Then again, considering that so many things fall halfway into the ground when spawning right now with A15 experimental, I doubt the bikes have been fixed yet.

I'm assuming that random gen still crashes? I wonder how the other servers are getting theirs to work... -
Hopefully it runs for me at all. Still can't start a random gen map on SP, even after deleting/reinstalling my game and saves.

Were any of you able to start a random gen game? Mine simply crashed, no matter what seed I tried. Should be able to. Use the same menu as opting in (right click 7DTD in Steam library, go to the Betas section, select which one you want.)

Okay, so to give my first impressions of A15 experimental: - It looks great. Graphics are definitely a plus. I'm loving the distant terrain, and the some of the environment sounds have been souped up a bit. Played Navezgane for about fifteen minutes before dying (I know, lame sauce, right?), and I was entranced by just how good everything is looking. - Gotta use the right tools, now. Can't punch rocks to get small stones anymore. Gotta at least have a stone axe. Clubs don't work for harvesting, either. - Bad news: My game kept crashing every time I tried to start a random gen game. I could play Navezgane just fine, but I'm thinking that between now and the official A15 release, they're going to be working on random gen. - I LOVE that the zombies don't skid all over the ground when they fall down now. On top of that, but you can actually dodge their attacks if you're fast enough, as opposed to the old dice toss of them hitting you, even if you run behind them. Do NOT get into a straight-up melee with them unless you have a good weapon to stun/knock them down. They'll smack the crap out of you repeatedly. That's what I have so far. I'll probably mess around with it more, but we may have no choice but to wait on A15 for the server, unless we want to run Navezgane.

I say to pull the trigger and go with experimental A15, and as MadMole said in a recent post, just not get attached to anything. World wipes/game breakers are likely to occur. I think it'd be cool to be on the forefront of really discovering what A15 has to offer, good or bad and be able to report on it; I might sign up on the 7DTD forums to do just that. Otherwise I'm just sitting and waiting at the moment, haven't been playing much because I'm ready to just make the jump to the new thing already.

Been doing some reading on the 7DTD forums. And of course, rumors being what they are, they're saying that the experimental A15 will be released possible on the 15th. Will the server be running the experimental, or will we be waiting for the official stable release?

True, from how things are looking now, a wipe for A15 looks inevitable, so I change my vote to Yes. There's an awful lot of changes coming.

Not sure if this is a glitch or not, but currently I am only receiving around 1.25 zcoins per zombie kill. Wasn't the original rate 10?

It's definitely much better; I'm not having to debate with myself on whether to teleport or run twenty minutes back to base. I would say that in A15, since we'll be able to trade and there will be a system of currency, a lot of items can be either taken out of zcoin shop or have prices raised dramatically; you have to work hard to get schematics and ammo, ammo being the hardest one. If we can keep the discussions constructive, this may be something for the whole admin team to weigh in on. What items should be available, and cost of said items.

I'll do some playing to test the balance. From my reckoning, I think increasing the cost of some items (ammo) would help keep things interesting. Teleportation, I think, is essential and should be left very affordable.
