server problems Connection Issues And Other Server Related Problems - MEGATHREAD
DJ replied to DJ's topic in 7 Days To Die
The internet provider most likely had dropped a connection at that time. This happens occasionally most likely from having the server being located in a well populated area. Im planning on changing internet providers sometime in the near future, to try to prevent this from happening again. However, the server continues to run regardless of having an internet connection and since then it is now online and available again. Best regards and sorry for any inconvenience that this may have had. -
I have also decided to add a /pawnshop command, to teleport inside of your shop killjoy. Also if other players have a location they would like to have a custom slash command for to teleport to, then reply below.
-
Traders locations are now available to teleport to by using /trader1, /trader2, and so on up to six different traders.
-
I decided to leave the maximum amount of available /zgates to 3. I will however add custom commands to teleport to known trader locations to help free up those extra /zgates since the trader locations are teleported to often. I will setup those teleportation commands to trader locations soon. Best regards.

Resetting your skills seems uneccessary to do since it is not bug related. Their are always other ways to gain more skill points to help maximize your skills with normal gameplay. Furthermore, since this game is still in development and is early access there will be additional resets on everyones data and skills in the future. Therefore, I have decided to decline your request to get your skill points reset based on the fact that this game is still early access and future resets with the server will occur. Best regards.

Server has been upgraded and is now back online.

IT HAS ARRIVED... ... I hope you are as excited as I am now that the SSD hard drive has arrived in the mail today. The server is gonna go offline for awhile so that I can install this SSD hard drive and reinstall window server 2008 OS and set everything back up as before. I will post when it has finished and is ready to play on. Check back soon.

A conversation was started today about upgrading the ram as well as the SSD hard drive which is currently on its way. The SSD hard drive was also delayed in the mail and hopefully will arrive by tomorrow so that it can be installed soon. As far as the ram goes, its currently at 8gb right now and for an 8gb upgrade of ram costs about $62 for a server. I would like to upgrade the server to 32gb of total ram available to have an excellent server that will be dedicated to only 7 days to die. Most of the problems that caused the server to freeze up is mostly due to a limited amount of ram available. This upgrade is optional and anyone can donate if they would like to however, to reach 32gb of ram it will cost between $200 and $300, depending on what is purchased. The server is a Dell Poweredge T110 and is running on windows server 2008 operating system. All donations are appreciated but never required. I am also willing to put all of next months donations towards this upgrade rather than to the monthly operating expenses, which I will cover the costs. Furthermore, I will post more information about this upgrade when I find compatible ram for the server and also I will post more information about the server specs. If any one has any comments or questions at all, please don't hesitate to reply to this thread. Best Regards.

This game is early access and you should just start over since this game is full of bugs and other places will also need to be deleted and regenerated eventually. I am unable to give complete inventories of everything that was lost to hundreds of players that connect to the server due to bugs in the game. So far there has been about 723 different players that have connected to this world and this amount will continue to rise. What I am able to do is give you 15k casino coins to help you get re-established since items are more easily obtained now by visiting trader locations and player made shops. Best Regards. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused but areas of the map will need to get wiped eventually with or without notice. However, does 15k casino coins sound fair to you to help you get re-established or should I look for another solution for this?

The rules for this are as follows: If any of our server admins start causing problems and abusing their powers please let us know immediately by replying to this post. Admins that we have allowed to help us out to keep order in our servers as well as keeping it a positive and a fun server to play on, do not represent Red Hat Gamers in any way whatsoever, since they are players too. Some admins on rare occasions may start acting up and causing problems towards our servers and community. If an admin is causing problems such as harassing players, insulting players, using racist, hateful, and bigotry talk, or even going as far as breaking our server rules, Please Let Us Know. All admins must follow the same server rules as everyone else in order to keep their status as an admin. Please post any abuse from any of our chosen admins by taking a screenshot or video of their activities, chat, etc. and share it with us by replying to this post. http://www.redhatgamers.com/topic/91-report-admin-abuse-here/

I had moved the spawn location to the central city at a location with walls and such, however the old mountain spawn will still be available by using /whataview, and stark towers teleport will now be /stark. I will set those up soon as well as removing those lcb's at /whataview, so it can be more easily maintained and altered. Also since those two locations seem to be really well known on the server they can now be more easily visited.

I have purchased a 256GB SSD Hard Drive and a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter to fit our server for $86.98 of the $113.46, that was donated. Thank you for everyone that had donated and the unused funds will go towards next months expenses. I will install this, sometime tomorrow so that we will be able to have a better and more enjoyable server. Best Regards.

The bugged trader that is located north of the central hub at: 2270 N - 297 W, will be deleted and regenerated since it is always closed. This will be done during the next server restart, sometime tomorrow which will result in that region to be regenerated. Any other trader locations that are always closed due to some bug, please post here and I will fix them.

So far it has just been for server admins and that information is restricted only to the admins forum. However player rules will be updated within the next day or two to help reflect those new rules. Best Regards.

Recently the server had crashed again due to a known memory leak with 7 Days To Die and a simple restart was needed to fix this. Furthermore, if anybody is curious to know more about this memory leak problem, then here are some chat logs from a discussion I had with a gameservers.com representative when our server kept crashing. I am also currently in the process of setting up something on our new dedicated server to help prevent this from happening again. Also you may be able to learn more about this at 7daystodie.com. Posted 05/07/16 5:36am - Jake Are you sure that no changes or additions have been made to the server prior to the start of the crashes? I am currently seeing a number of crashing instances as a result of a memory limit enforced on the server. The 7daystodie server software has a history of memory leaks that would cause the instance to utilize all of the available memory on the machine. We have enforced a memory limit for the 7daystodie subscriptions to avoid such incidents. With indication that this is occurring for your subscription there may be conflicts or events in the server that are causing an abnormally high memory load, or triggering a memory leak. Posted 05/24/16 1:18pm - Zachary Hello, The issue at this time is due to a memory leak in the Unity game engine, used to make 7 days to die. We have increased the memory limit on your subscription by 50%, however, we will not be able to increase this further. Crashes will still occur when this limit is reached, and there is no way around this unfortunately. The Unity engine development team will need to address the memory leak issue in order to permanently resolve this problem. Thanks,

This seems to be a somewhat of a common issue with our 3rd party server manager program at envul.com. I have found a few similar problems that have occurred for others at https://envul.com/forums/cloud-based-server-manager/bug-reports/service-4647-some-players-unable-to-use-command/, and at https://envul.com/forums/cloud-based-server-manager/bug-reports/commands-does-not-work-for-some-players/. Deleting player stats solution on envul.com wont fix it since that was recently done when we had started over fresh for alpha 15. Therefore, I just recently tried the un-ban solution several times in an attempt to see if that fixes it. However I will continue to look for a solution to fix this if that doesn't work. If you would like to, you could try changing your steam username temporarily, to something different to see if that will fix it. Best Regards.
