The settings are 31 blocks by 31 blocks, in a square radius and will protect you all the way up into the sky and all the way down to bedrock. This will make your base invincible and this will protect against bears but not against zombies. To protect your base against zombies you will need to upgrade your walls to iron or steel for better defenses. Adding spikes to a kill pit or trench also helps out a lot with defenses too.

We have recently upgraded our server to a dedicated hosting solution and it has been a success. We have managed to lower load times and now have a much smoother game play. Now we would like to increase server performance even farther to reduce additional lag by upgrading to SSD Hard Drives. Depending on how much money we can bring in on this fundraiser will depend on what we upgrade to, but we would like to upgrade to an SDD with lots of memory so that we have room to grow. An SSD Hard Drive can run up to 15 times faster than a standard hard drive and Increase user productivity and cut time spent on everyday tasks at impressive speeds. Here is an example SSD that we have in mind for this upgrade: Kingston SSDNow KC400 SKC400S3B7A/1T 2.5" 1TB SATA III Business Solid State Disk. Help us reach our goal of $160 by donating today. Any amount left over will go towards next months expenses. Click here to make a small donation and help out our community. Donations are always appreciated but never required. Donators also receive perks for their donations.

On horde night I can often hear that frightfully ominous if not altogether annoying ringing tone as zombie bears attempt to break through my walls. As scary as that is I can only think how much more scary it would be if I missed a spot and they didn't... How close together do my lcb's need to be, to not have any holes in my defenses? The sever settings as listed are not very informative and it would be nice to know how strong our block protection is against zombies and how far that protection extends on all sides of the lcb. These are the questions that first arise when I think about building a base and how to defend it.

I am not a big fan of /shop it makes the game too easy to get food / ammo -- I kind of like how people have to actually play the game as it was intended as a "survival" game. I do agree that the /gimme command is enjoyable for the roulette of getting a bear or zombie. And as you can't do a /gimme every 30 mins or so it'll force more people to play.
